I first contacted Onion Creek VW online for a quote on a Golf Sportswagen. Torin responded to me relatively quickly and within minutes I was pulling into the parking lot to see the car I had requested pulling up in the front of the building. Not even 3 minutes later I was in the driver's seat exploring the potential car and driving it. The salesperson Torin was neither pushy nor passive. He confidently told me what I needed to know and promised he could be competetive with any other deal out there. He was. While some dealerships use pressure to keep customers in the door for a sale, Torin used price. He did not need to pressure me. Our negotiation was fast and efficient. He gave me a price, I told him why I thought it was not low enough and he adjusted it substantially, beating the price of a used, comparable vehicle at Carmax I had been considering. This is not pressure or hype, this is good salesmanship and pure math. Secondly, and for some, more importantly, nothing about this dealership to me smacked of usual car-dealership scamming. The people at Onion Creek were authentically friendly, demonstrating outstanding customer service value and skill. Torin was fun to talk with, treated me like he cared and more importantly, has a broad understanding of car sales, warranties and deals. At the end of the deal while I drove off in my new Golf Sportswagen, thanks to the people at Onion Creek, it felt more like a Rolls Royce. Lastly, but not least, at some dealerships the love ends after you sign the paper and then you discover the awful service side of the organization. Onion Creek is different. I already met some of the service staff and will look forward to getting my car serviced there. Onion Creek VW created that experience and earned my present and future business. I will update this post if my view changes and I learn more about their service side. But so far, so good.
